• ಶ್ರೀ ತುಳಸಿ • ಕಾರ್ತಿಕ ಮಾಸದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, 'ಉತ್ಥಾನ ದ್ವಾದಶಿ'ಯಂದು "ತುಳಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬ" ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.. • ಹಿಂದೂ ಪುರಾಣಗಳ (ಗ್ರಂಥ) ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಉತ್ಥಾನ ದ್ವಾದಶಿಯು ಮಹಾವಿಷ್ಣು ತನ್ನ ನಿದ್ರೆಯಿಂದ ಎಚ್ಚರಗೊಳ್ಳುವ ದಿನವಾಗಿದೆ.. • ಭಗವಾನ್ ವಿಷ್ಣುವು 'ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪವಿತ್ರ ತಿಂಗಳು'ಗಳ ಕಾಲ ತನ್ನ ನಿದ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದುವರೆಸುತ್ತಾರೆ (ಈ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ "ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ್" ವ್ರತವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ). • 'ಆಷಾಢ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯಂದು "ಚಾತುರ್ಮಾಸ ವ್ರತ" ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ (ಶಯನ ಏಕಾದಶಿ) ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ಥಾನ ಏಕಾದಶಿಯಂದು ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ'.. • ದ್ವಾದಶಿ ದಿನ, ಭಕ್ತರು ತಮ್ಮ ಏಕಾದಶಿ ಉಪವಾಸವನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು ವಿಷ್ಣು ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.. • ತುಳಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬವು ಭಗವಾನ್ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ತುಳಸಿ ದೇವಿಯ ವಿವಾಹವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.. • ಕ್ಷೀರಸಾಗರ ಮಂಥನದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ತುಳಸಿ ಸಸ್ಯವು ಕ್ಷೀರಸಾಗರದಿಂದ ವಿಕಸನಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಈ ದಿನ ತುಳಸಿ ವಿಷ್ಣು ವಿವಾಹವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.. • "ತುಳಸಿ ವಿವಾಹ" ಅನ್ನು 'ತುಳಸಿ ದಾಮೋದರ ವಿವಾಹ / ತುಳಸಿ ಸಾಲಿಗ್ರಾಮ ವಿವಾಹ' ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.. • ಉತ್ಥಾನ ದ್ವಾದಶಿಯು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮಂಥನ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನೂ ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ (ಕ್ಷೀರಸಾಗರದ ಮಂಥನ).. • "ಉತ್ಥಾನ ದ್ವಾದಶಿ"ಯನ್ನು 'ಕ್ಷೀರಬ್ದಿ ದ್ವಾದಶಿ, ಚಿಲುಕು ದ್ವಾದಶಿ, ಯೋಗೇಶ್ವರ ದ್ವಾದಶಿ' ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.. • 'ದೀಪಾವಳಿಯ ನಂತರ ೧೨ನೇ ದಿನದಂದು' "ತುಳಸಿ ಹಬ್ಬ"ವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.. • ತುಳಸಿ (ಪವಿತ್ರ ತುಳಸಿ) • ತುಳಸಿ ವಿವಾಹ (ತುಳಸಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಂ) ಎಂಬುದು ಹಿಂದೂ ಹಬ್ಬವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಲಿಗ್ರಾಮ ಅಥವಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ನೆಲ್ಲಿಕಾಯಿ ಕಾಂಡ (ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ) ಜೊತೆಗೆ ತುಳಸಿಯ ವಿವಾಹವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.. • ತುಳಸಿ ವಿವಾಹವು ಹಿಂದೂ ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಗಾಲ ಅಂತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮದುವೆಯ ಋತುವಿನ ಆರಂಭವನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.. • "ತುಳಸಿ"ಯನ್ನು 'ವಿಷ್ಣು ಪ್ರಿಯ' (ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಪ್ರಿಯ) ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.. • ತುಳಸಿ ವಿವಾಹ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪದ್ಮ ಪುರಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ (ಗ್ರಂಥ) ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ..
• Shree Tulsi • During Karthika Month, "Tulasi Festival" is observed on 'Uthwana Dwadashi' .. • As per Hindu Puranas (Scripture), Uthwana Dwadashi is the day during which Maha Vishnu awakes from his sleep. • Lord Vishnu continues his sleep for 'four Holy Months' (During this time "Chaturmas" Vratha is observed).. • "Chaturmasa Vratha" 'starts on Ashada Ekadashi (Shayana Ekadashi) and ends on Uthwana Ekadashi'.. • On Dwadashi day, Devotee break their Ekadashi Fast and observe Vishnu Puja.. • Tulasi Habba marks the Marriage of Lord Vishnu & Goddess Tulasi.. • During Ksheer Sagar Manthan, Tulasi plant was evolved from the Ocean of Milk. Since then on this Day Tulasi Vishnu Vivaha is observed.. • "Tulasi Vivaha" is also called as 'Tulasi Damodara Vivaha / Tulasi Saligrama Vivaha'.. • Uthwana Dwadashi also signifies the beginning of Samudra Manthan (Churning of Milky Ocean).. • "Uthana Dwadashi" is also known as 'Ksheerabdhi Dwadasi, Chiluku Dwadasi, Yogeshwara Dwadashi'.. • "Tulasi festival" is celebrated on the '12th day after Deepavali'.. • Tulsi (Holy Basil) • Tulsi Vivah (Tulasi Kalyanam) is a Hindu festival in which a marriage of the Tulsi with god Saligrama or Amla steam (personification of Vishnu) is held.. • The Tulasi wedding signifies the end of the monsoon and the beginning of the wedding season in Hinduism.. • "Tulsi" is considered as 'Vishnu Priya' (beloved of Vishnu).. • The Tulasi Vivah and its rites are told in the Padma Purana (Scripture).
